new season.
of the Games (L.O.T.G) amendments and clarification for the 2017-18 season. Bruce explained that many
of the changes this season, were to reinforce or clarify the more major revision that the International FA Board
(I.F.A.B) made last season. Notably, there are amendments in Law 12 relating to 'stopping a promising attack' and
clarifications of recent modifications made to the Offside Law. The I.F.A.B presentation detailing these changes
can be found here. This session sparked plenty of debate amongst those present.

a Laws of the Game Exam, he and other officials at his level has recently taken on the Law Changes. Those
present had the opportunity too test their knowledge and understanding of the amendments by working through
the various scenario questions. Carl then went over the answers and offered further explanation where needed.
In the final segment of the evening, Steve Stewart presented a short session explaining the 'SIN-BIN'
system which is being piloted in several leagues for the 2017-18 season. The SIN-BIN system applies only
to players who are cautioned for dissent and is in selected leagues only. Steve explained the rationale was
to reduce the amount of dissent experienced by Match Officials and offered guidance on the practicalities
of how the system will work.
A vote of thanks was then given to Bruce and Carl for all their hard work in preparing and delivering what
was a hugely beneficial and enjoyable start to the season.
