Thursday 27th October, and it was our second 'Social Evening' |
Corner comes into the box. As this is happening, a defensive player strikes an opposition player off the field of play,
but within the confines of the penalty area.
Decision?
Penalty and red card for Violent Conduct
Scenario 2
Attacker running down the right wing. Defender comes square on to attacker and kicks a water bottle that was lying
on the FOP at the ball, thus knocking it out of play.
Decision?
Direct free kick as the object would be classed as an extension of the player
Our Training Officer, Graham Speed then wished both Bruce Dixon & Dan McIver a speedy recovery.
Bruce took this opportunity to thank the society for their card and gift voucher. Graham then welcomed our
guest speaker, Joe Johnson.
Joe gave a fantastic and interactive presentation on 'Effective Communication & Teamwork'. The presentation was
based on the standard team of 3; a Referee & 2 Assistant Referees. For the exercise, the referee left the room and
his 2 assistants then watched a video clip that had some form of incident happen. The referee then came back
into the room to ask his assistants what they had seen. The exercise was done a couple of times, once without
the comms kit and then with the comms kit. This gave everyone a real insight into what information a referee
would need from his assistants and when.
Graham then thanked Joe for his presentation and the meeting was brought to a close.
Jim & Doreen Smith also attended with their Poppy's in aid of charity. This garnered interest from the society
members, as well as members of the Christ The King club. As ever, I'm sure Jim & Doreen will raise plenty of money for
a great cause!
